I’ve been told that I can’t run until this weekend…
according to my doctor. Within the past couple of days I have hit a brick wall and my body is yelling at me. What I originally thought was the flu (thank goodness I was completely wrong about that) ended up being that I’m very dehydrated and my electrolyte levels are super low. Go figure.
So now my doctor tells me I need to give my body a rest this week before I try pushing it even harder. What’s unfortunate, is that I’ve gotten myself this far in my training [where I can now say I’m capable of running a half marathon] and I have to deal with this minor annoying setback.
Who has some pointers for runners who need to pick it back up after some necessary R&R?

Be gradual. Increase your mileage by 10% maximum each week to prevent that from happening again!
