I’ve been trying to remove the word “can’t” from my vocabulary, because I truly believe that a large part of making it through life is your mentality.

Today I found myself repeating, “I will not stop” for the majority of my run. This week I’ve moved up in my distance on Wednesdays, reaching six miles this morning. I’m not going to lie, it was difficult. But again - I listened to my inner self and completed all six of those damn miles.

What’s funny to me is that I have longer distances under my belt now, but six miles is giving me a hard time. Why. Why. Why.

As I continue to increase my distance during the week, I think I’m going to need to start running after work as opposed to beforehand - I just don’t have enough food in my system to fuel me through my longer runs.

Sidenote [kind of related]: In the coming weeks I will actually be purchasing a new pair of kicks. What do we think about these bad larrys?

I'm a former soccer player who has recently fallen in love with running. This year, I reached one of my life goals: the 2012 Boston Marathon! This experience has completely transformed my life, so here I am blogging about fitness, running, motivation, nutrition and staying true to yourself. Thanks for reading!
